Primary Science Quality Mark

In 2016 Science @ Bromesberrow was  a big focus in our teaching and the children's learning. As a school we were working towards the Silver award in the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM). There were lots of criteria that we will need to meet and Mrs Carpenter, as science co-ordinator,  ensured that we met those criteria and had plenty of evidence.

The children were heavily involved in planning, analysing and evaluating science investigations. We started the new term with a week of investigations that excited and engaged the children.

A new after school science club, led by Mrs Carpenter also started.

In March had a Science Fair, led by the children and gave you opportunity to see what they had been doing.

Each week wel chose a Bromesberrow Scientist who took home a science learning pack. There were lots of investigations that were undertaken just using items in the kitchen. We asked them to write about what they had done, including some photos or pictures and we shared this in assembly.

We hope that over this coming academic year we can re-visit some of these initiatives and promote science within our school.
